Echoes in Charcoal, Iron, and Shadow

In Artifact Noir, each painting becomes a relic—fragmented, layered, and obscured. The series is built from the ruins of memory and material, where forms emerge like buried structures or forgotten blueprints. Surfaces are stained with rust, ash, and smoke, evoking the aesthetic of decayed industry, collapsed architecture, and time-worn terrain.

At close range, the works reveal something more intimate: each brushstroke is a trace, as if the gesture itself has been fossilized. You can see the drag of the bristles, the grooves etched in paint—marks so precise they feel archaeological, like touch preserved in pigment.

The palette—darkened with carbon tones, ochre rust, and bruised slate—recalls oxidized metal and scorched earth. Yet within the darkness, there’s motion: echoes of human presence, flickers of memory, or the rhythm of a city long stilled.

Artifact Noir is not about what remains—it’s about what haunts the remains.
